Top Tips on How to Remove Paint from Floor Tiles Faster than 2 Minutes

The tips are as follows:

Tip #1. Slightly heat the area.

  • Focus on a small part of the painted area just to test.
  • If heat is just fine, begin heating the area with a soldering/heating gun.
  • Make sure to constantly move your gun fast (preferably not more than 1 second) to avoid burning the floor.
  • Once the paint looks and feels melted, begin scraping it with a putty knife or rubber scraper to remove paint from floor tiles.
  • Lay the edge of the scraper flat into the floor. Softly bury just a bit enough to bite into the paint. Once done, tilt the handle of the scraper to an angle. Slide the scraper to scoop a full strip off the paint.
  • Pull out the paint. Be careful in doing so to avoid scratching the floor underneath.
  • Wipe the bare floor area with a clean moist fabric to remove excess paint.
  • Continue doing this until the paint is totally gone.
  • It shouldn’t take you more than 2 minutes to finish a concentrated area.

Tip #2. Use the putty knife or a scraper to remove the paint from floor tiles.

  • Lay the putty knife/scraper’s edge into the painted floor.
  • Bury the edge a bit (just enough to dig into the paint). But, make sure to do it gently to avoid scratching the floor.
  • If the paint tends to be too dry to scrape off, apply 2 drops of water into the area.
  • Wipe with a dy cloth.
  • If the paint is still too difficult to remove, proceed with heating the painted area.

Tip #3. Apply a thinner.

  • Wear safety glasses and gloves before coming in contact with the thinner.
  • Pour a sufficient amount of thinner into a clean and dry cloth (refer to the indicated amount).
  • Pour an equal amount of water into the cloth to equalize the concentration.
  • Wipe the cloth into the paint.
  • If there is still paint left, apply more thinner.
  • Scrape off the paint once its main layer softens.
  • Once all paint has been scraped off, wipe the entire area with a slightly wet cloth dipped in detergent.
  • Follow with a dry cloth this time to dry the floor tiles.
